2023 Happy-Thon

Last Updated 9/19/2024

The Sykesville Happy-Thon Holiday event was born in 2015 when we supported 14 families from our community. Over the past eight years, our efforts have reached over 40 families in need, as identified by the counseling program at Piney Ridge Elementary. With your generous support, in 2022, we raised $13,727 and were able to serve 61 children. We are confident that, in 2023, we can continue to serve just as many or even more families.

The Sykesville Happy-Thon holiday campaign marks its eighth edition as a fundraiser dedicated to providing presents and warm clothing to those in need. It culminates in a heartwarming distribution event featuring treats and a visit from Santa Claus, on the porch of the Townhouse.

With your contribution, we aim to surpass our 2022 fundraising achievement and make the 2023 Sykesville Happy-Thon holiday campaign a resounding success. Your support enables us to offer gifts to children who may not receive any otherwise, fostering a sense of belonging and emotional connection, which are the cornerstones of a strong community.

Any donation made to the Downtown Sykesville Connection for this project will go entirely towards presents and clothing purchases and is tax-deductible, as the Downtown Sykesville Connection is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization (EIN: 82-3150093). You can contribute by sending a check (please add "2023 Happy-Thon" in the memo line) to 7566 Main Street, Suite 302, Sykesville, MD, 21784, or by visiting our website. Please use the donate button and add "2023 Happy-Thon" in the comment section.

We eagerly anticipate another successful endeavor, driven by the energy and dedication of the Main Street Program, in making our town a wonderful place to live for all.
